The New Year's Day parade starts at 1pm and runs through the Village of Egg Harbor on Hwy 42. Entering into its 40th year, there's an open invitation to virtually anyone to join the Egg Harbor New Year's Day parade. The parade lineup begins at Stella Maris Parish, 7710 Hwy 42 in downtown Egg Harbor. The parade runs north through the village from Harbor School Road to County Hwy E. Sister Bay celebrates New Year’s Eve with a shopping extravaganza throughout the village, ice skating and a bonfire at the Sports Complex, dining specials, and an early evening fireworks show at the Sports Complex. The Cherry Drop portion of the evening starts at 10:30pm with fm106.9 The Lodge playing some the biggest tunes of all time from Cherry ground zero at The Garage. An annual concert event now in its sixth year, Play It Forward brings together some of Door County’s best-loved musicians for an evening of seasonal music that is both festive and reflective. Inspired by the life and legacy of Bo Johnson, a young Sister Bay resident who died in 2012, “Play It Forward” does just that: participating musicians donate their time, and proceeds from the evening go to benefit a worthy cause (this year’s recipient has yet to be chosen).
