I have the privilege to enlighten you on the passions of Connie Erickson; she is as passionate about the community as she is about the real estate business.
The Ericksons are great supporters of the Door County community. High on their list of fine organizations, which they support, is the Door County Auditorium. As financial contributors to this organization, Connie and Bob sponsor many different concerts and events at the auditorium.
Connie and Bob are large financial contributors to the Birch Creek Farms, where Connie and Bob support at least two of the programs each summer that are performed in the old renovated barn on the property.
The Ericksons have also been actively involved as supporters of the American Folklore Theatre, sponsoring one play for the season in the

Peninsula State Park, as well as the fall indoor play or concert. Peninsula Players come to Connie and Bob for financial assistance for renovations and the Ericksons respond. The Ericksons have been financial contributors to the Peninsula Players for many years.
Bob Erickson had served as a member of the Board for The Village of Egg Harbor for ten years. Bob suggested to Connie, at the beginning of his tenure, that they give away Bob’s salary each year to a community cause in need. Some of the contributions Bob made during his tenure were: Northern Door Child Care Center, the Egg Harbor Fire Chief burn victim, Help of Door County, The United Way, Birch Creek Farms, Door County Auditorium, to aid a lung transplant recipient and many others.
Being the long standing supporters of The United Way, Connie and Bob came up with a very clever idea. They donated $5,000 to The United Way and asked the REALTOR community to match it. Connie and Bob’s effort that year raised an additional $2500 from the REALTOR
community.
The organization nearest and dearest to Connie and Bob’s heart is Help of Door County, for abused and battered spouses and their family. After each real estate transaction closing, Connie and Bob make a financial contribution on behalf of the Buyer and Seller. Help has created an endowment fund which continues to grow on Help’s behalf, from the contribution of the sale of properties donated by the Ericksons. Connie and Bob also take hundreds of presents to the Help Center at Christmas. Each year these gifts created a Christmas for over 83 families in distress.
While many of us are affected one way or another by cancer, Connie and Bob wanted to find some way to give back to this cause. Each year Connie and Bob ask 12 guests to accompany them to the fund raiser for Cancer Dinner. The Erickson’s also sponsor the reserved table centerpieces each year. Furthermore, the centerpieces are later raffled off for more contributions after the dinner.
Connie and Bob have supported the Egg Harbor Little League Team. They are proud to say the team won the local Championship in 2006 and were runners-up in 2005.
The Ericksons are extremely active with the Egg Harbor Lions Organization. The Egg Harbor Lions support 25 local charities each year. During the Lions Club’s Annual Rose Sale, Connie and Bob give away over 100 dozen roses each year to support that campaign. Bob has chaired the campaign for 13 years. In 2006 Bob was honored to receive the Mel urn Jones award from the Lions for his charitable service.
And, the list goes on and on. They also sponsor golf holes at community charity events. Bob is a huge contributor of his time for such activities as cooking brats during local festivals and as a judge for the chili tasting contest or manning the beer tent (no samples).
In fact, it is hard to look anywhere in Door County Wisconsin and not find the Ericksons as major community contributors. Their passion for giving back to the community is as strong as their passion for the real estate business.
Individual organizations recognize and thank the Erickson's for their contributions to strengthen the Door County Community.
