Connie Erickson, ABR, CRS, GRI, SRES, RRS was born in Mattoon, IL and attended the University of Kansas, receiving a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Education. 

Connie was an award-winning teacher for 13 years prior to entering the real estate field, being presented with the “Teacher of the Year Award” in 1983-84 and the “State of Illinois Those Who Excel Award” in the same year. 

In 1985, Connie entered the real estate world earning her company’s “Rookie of the Year Award.” In 1987 after only two years in the real estate business, she was the Door County REALTOR of the Year. 

Her real estate speaking debut was at the 1990 New Orleans National Convention as a participant in a “Distinguished Sales Associate Forum.” In 1998 Connie was fortunate to be chosen to be interviewed by Howard Brinton, renowned real estate instructor, becoming one of his STAR POWER Stars. She has taught numerous GRI courses, as well as being an instructor at three Northern Wisconsin State REALTOR Conventions and a moderator of a STAR POWER Panel at the Wisconsin State Convention. Connie has given presentations to numerous Boards of REALTORS, Title Companies, and private organizations around the Midwest. She has been an instructor for the last 12 years at the STAR POWER Annual Conference. 

In 2001, Connie was featured in REALTOR Magazine’s “Top 300 Residential Salespeople,” as well as the subject of a CRS Magazine article in 2002 about top producers and their marketing. Connie, along with her husband, Bob, is co-owner and Vice President of Door County Realty, Inc. in Fish Creek, WI.

Timeshare ownership is a popular vacation home investment currently held by over three million American households. A timeshare is joint ownership in a vacation resort property that gives you an exclusive right to occupy a condo unit for a specified interval each year. What might you need to know about timeshare ownership if you are considering making such an investment?

There are two ways to approach timeshare. One is to buy a right-to-use membership that allows you to stay in a particular condo for an annual block of time for a number of years. You can also choose to trade your right-to-use time with someone else, perhaps someone who owns timeshare in a different location you yearn to visit. Simple-fee ownership is more like conventional homeownership -- you purchase a slice of the property and receive title by means of a deed. The property is legally yours. You can obtain insurance on the time-share property, sell or lease it, or have it transferred by will. Deeded timeshares can be also willed to family members.
